Our commitment
We want every citizen, including people with disabilities, to be able to use the “My Health, My Responsibility” portal easily.
We aim to meet level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
The portal's accessibility tools
With the ♿ button on the right edge of every page you can:
- Set the text size to normal, large (115%) or larger (130%).
- Turn on high contrast: black text and stronger colours on a white page.
- Your choice is kept in this browser only and is never sent anywhere. “Reset” removes it.
What the portal supports
- Headings, labels and descriptions for screen readers (such as NVDA, TalkBack and VoiceOver).
- Use with the keyboard alone: Tab moves forward, Shift + Tab back; every page starts with a “Skip to main content” link.
- Enough contrast between text and background; information is given by icons and words, not colour alone.
- Touch and click targets of at least 44 × 44 pixels.
- Pages that fit phones from 360 pixels wide up to large screens, and stay readable when the browser is zoomed to 200%.
- Both Nepali and English.
Your browser and phone settings
The portal and the app also follow your browser and phone settings:
- Press Ctrl and + (⌘ and + on a Mac) to enlarge the page in your browser.
- When you increase the text size in your phone's settings, the “My Health, My Responsibility” app's text grows too, up to 200%.
- With “reduce motion” on in your phone or computer, the portal's animations stop.
Known limits
- Screen readers cannot read the whole Ayurveda health organization map; the same organizations can be read in the list view.
- High contrast does not change the colours of photos and pictures.
